Eva Klien has graduated in Landscape Ecology in 2003. She currently works as a research assistant at the Institute for Geoinformatics, University of Münster, where she has been involved in several research projects related to semantics of geographic information. Her research focus is on service-oriented architectures for geographic information. In particular, she is interested in methods for improving the usability of geographic information by enabling semantic interoperability in geographic web service environments. Her research is influenced and driven by concepts and methods of three evolving scientific fields: Geographic Information Sciences, Geospatial Semantics, and Semantic Web. She has authored and co-authored a number of publications on geo-ontologies, ontologies in geo-service infrastructures and semantic annotation of geographic information.
