Farshad Hakimpour is a research associate at the LSDIS Lab. at the University of Georgia. He worked on AKT project in KMI at the Open University for more than a year, after finishing his PhD at the University of Zurich. He received his M.Sc. in Geoinformatics from ITC, The Netherlands and his B.Sc. in computer science from the Teheran University. His research interests in domain of databases and interoperability of distributed systems includes solutions for structural and semantic heterogeneity while maintaining semantic diversity. He has also worked in domain of Web information systems particularly Semantic Web and Web Service composition. He has special interest in domain of spatial and temporal data processing.
