Short Biography

Dr. Mauro Gaio is professor in Computer Science in the University of Pau et des Pays de l'Adour. He was assistant professor in Computer Science in the University of Caen Basse Normandie (1994-2002). He received his Ph.D. from the University of Caen Basse Normandie in Computer Science in 1994. His research interests include spatial knowledge representation and spatial reasoning; user interfaces for geographic information systems; textual spatial semantic. His funded research includes grants from the CNRS (French National Center for Scientific Research), the european financial support (FEDER), the ANRT (National Association for Technical Research), the Regional Council of Basse-Normandie, the Regional Council of Aquitaine, the Caisse des Dépôts (state-owned financial institution that performs public-interest missions).
