Short Biography

Daniel C. Berrios M.D. Ph.D. is a computer scientist in the Information Sharing and Integration Group at NASA Ames Research Center. He has designed systems for intelligent information indexing and retrieval, and researches semantic web research topics such as ontology alignment and knowledge acquisition for engineering and scientific applications. He worked extensively in collaborative scientific data management system design, focusing on semantic mark up of geospatially tagged information. In addition, Dr. Berrios is a trained pathologist with expertise in biostatistics, epidemiology, and biocomputing.
